Elisa's Girls Camp Experience

Since Elisa turned 12 back in March, she was able to attend Girl's Camp this year with the other Young Women at Church. Her camp was the first week of June. She was so excited to attend camp, until she found out she could not take her ipod, cell phone, blow dryer, hair straightener, and she was to sleep in a cabin. Elisa had to endure 4 days of living with only the basics. She survived without her cell phone, no internet access, or television. When she was dropped off she smelled like dirt and sweat, her clothes reeked horribly, but she had a HUGE smile on her face. Elisa is can't wait to go again next year. She meet other young ladies her age in our stake boundaries. Her favorite activity at camp was climbing a 40 foot tall pole and jumping down from it. Of course, she had ropes to make sure she didn't hit the ground. She jumped off 4 times. She did complain about the bugs in the showers and the cabins. Imagine that bugs out in the wilderness? The girls also had a mud fight, which turned Elisa's white shirt permanently black. They had a tug of war. Elisa jumped into a lake and took a several mile hike. She loves getting older to be able to participate in more of the Young Women's activities. One of her favorite activities was the shaving cream fight.
