A quick update on life

Mom is taking Algebra and English Lit 206 this semester. I am already loaded down with lots of reading and writing for the Eng Lit. Algebra will require me to have longer days away from home to complete my homework at the computer labs in school. I am feeling much better since surgery. I am still having some problems with eating and swallowing, but that is improving with time. On January 27, I will be starting the Strive to Scale Back at work with my co-workers (the dietitian and health educator). Can't wait we are trying to think of creative names. I thought of Hungry Hippos.

Dad just got back from his trip to California to see Alabama play in the Championship game. Him and his classmates made the drive and he spent less then $900 (including the $200 ticket). He had an EXCELLENT time. He is on his last semester of law school and like 80% of his other classmates have no job prospects. So our plan B is for him to go back to school for another master's or PhD program and use up the last of his GI Bill. Hopefully, that extra year of school will give the economy time to recover.

Jay will be on the Jr/Varsity Soccer team this season at the high school. He graduates middle school at the end of May. He keeps growing tall. After politely asking for a Xbox for the past four years, Santa saved enough to get him one. He loves it, so far his favorite game is Fable (which he purchased by selling his hand me down playstation and some games).

Elisa will be in her school's beauty walk at the end of the month Jan 30. We found the dress at a consignment shop for only $30. Aunt Michelle sent her some beautiful jewelry. Mema will be sending her money for a manicure. We still are on the lookout for shoes.

That's us in a nutshell. We are all keeping busy active with our activities.
