Fourth of July

Our Fourth of July was filled with the most important F words: Friends, Fun, Food, Fireworks, and Freedom! The first stop of the day was to help a family move into their apartment, but by time we got there the missionaries had already unloaded. Jon was happy. Next stop the Purser's. We had a great lunch with the Purser family. There family includes: Dad, Mom, Hiram, Nathan, Jacob, Zachary, and Hannah. All range in age from 9 months to 17 years old. Kevin, his girlfriend Pam, and Chris (Jay's best buddy) also joined us for the lunch.

In the evening we were invited to the Rupp's family home in Birmingham. It is was a few blocks from the Vulcan statue. Here's a link to find interesting facts about the Vulcan statue http://www.visitvulcan.com/. We had even more food and they had a table full of fireworks. A lot of fireworks that I know are illegal in California. The kids were anxious until the time arrived to start launching them. Eight o'clock we started our fireworks and ended just in time for the 20 minute firework display from the Vulcan statue. It was great! Our day finally ended at 11:45 pm, when we finally made it home to go to bed.
